Choose a cabinet frame option to go along with your cabinet door style:
The cabinet frame has a bead cut into, or applied to each of the door/drawer openings. The doors/drawers are set into the frame opening, flush with the face frame. This is the most labor intensive door treatment which makes it more expensive than the other styles. Most of our door profiles can be used with the beaded inset style. A large percentage of our cabinetry is done in this style.
In this type of cabinetry, the frame has a square edge, and the door/drawer is set into the cabinet frame opening. With this style of cabinetry, 100% of the face frame is visible. Many door and drawer styles are available in the inset configuration. We offer this style with European type concealed hinges or exposed barrel hinges.
In this style the doors/drawers lay on top of the frame, or cover a frameless box. The doors and drawers are made larger than normal as to cover virtually the entire cabinet frame. Door and drawer edges almost touch each other. This is more costly than regular overlay. European style concealed hinges are used with this style of cabinetry.
Partial or Standard Overlay:
In this style of cabinetry, the doors/drawers are set on top of the frame, overlaying the frame a consistent amount (usually 1/2”). This style is the most common and least costly. We normally use European style concealed hinges with this type of cabintry.
